India’s First LNG-Powered Train Flagged Off From Gujarat’s Sabarmati

India has introduced its first train that can use LNG as well as diesel.

LNG is a different fuel that can help reduce the use of diesel.

Two engine cars were changed so they can use both fuels.

The engines can switch between LNG and diesel when needed.

More than 2,000 kilometres of testing were completed before the launch.

LNG can replace up to about 40% of the diesel used.

Officials expect this could lower fuel costs and some pollution.

The launch also included several other railway projects in Gujarat.
