PM Modi Salutes India's Weavers on National Handloom Day
Every year on August 7, India celebrates a special day called National Handloom Day.
It is a day to say thank you to weavers, the people who make beautiful clothes and fabrics by hand.
Weavers use traditional looms, and their work keeps India's culture and history alive.
India's leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, shared a message thanking the weavers and promising that the government will keep helping them.
He also asked everyone to share pictures and videos of their favourite handwoven clothes online using the hashtag #NationalHandloomDay.
This year's big celebration is happening in New Delhi, and the President of India is the Chief Guest.
Special awards will be given to the best weavers, and new postage stamps will be released.
The day also honours August 7, 1905, when the Swadeshi Movement began in India.
Weaving is very important because it gives jobs to more than 35 lakh people, and most of them are women.

The Ministry of Textiles is celebrating the 12th National Handloom Day at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre (RBCC) in New Delhi, with President Droupadi Murmu as Chief Guest.
The event features 22 awards (three Sant Kabir Handloom Awards and 19 National Handloom Awards for 2025), four commemorative postage stamps, and live demonstrations of Kani and Wall Hanging weaving.
