BEST, the company that runs many buses in Mumbai, was celebrating its 79th foundation day.

On that same day, a lady who helps keep the city clean lost her life.

Her name was Jayshri Bhanaji Parmar, and she was 56 years old.

She was crossing a busy road near a place called Mulund Check Naka.

A big bus had stopped at the traffic light.

When the light turned green, the bus started moving and hit the lady.

She fell onto the road and was run over, suffering very serious injuries.

She was taken to a hospital, but the doctors could not save her.

The police are now investigating what happened, and the bus driver has been detained.
