Telangana Gig Workers Announce Indefinite Strike From August 8

There are people who drive cars and do app-based jobs, and they are called gig workers.

Many of them live in a part of India called Telangana.

These workers say they are not earning enough money and get paid unfairly.

They also say computer programs treat them unfairly and they have no safety net if something goes wrong.

They asked the government and the companies to help them, but they say nobody listened.

In July, almost four lakh workers stopped working for one day to show how upset they were.

Now they are planning to stop working for a very long time starting August 8.

Many different unions are joining together to make their voices louder.

Some political parties are supporting them too.

The workers hope the government will finally make rules to protect them.
