Telangana Holds Emergency Meet Ahead of Gig Workers' Strike
Some people in Telangana, India, drive cabs or deliver food and packages using apps on their phones.
These workers are called gig workers.

TGPWU leaders demand higher fares, immediate implementation of the Gig and Platform Workers Act board and rules, and the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines of 2020 and 2025.
Unions also seek removal of the 10-minute delivery option, reinstatement of the previous payout structure, and rejection of white number-plate vehicles used for commercial rides.
TGPWU Founder President Shaik Salauddin called this the final government-level conciliation meeting before the indefinite strike.
