Ola Electric launches Mahashakti battery storage platform on August 15

Ola Electric is a company in India that makes electric scooters.

Its leader, Bhavish Aggarwal, launched a new product on August 15 called Mahashakti.

Mahashakti is a huge battery that can store electricity for factories, businesses and power grids.

It is like a giant rechargeable battery for a whole building.

Ola also has a smaller product called Shakti that gives backup power to homes and small shops.

India is building lots of solar and wind power, but the sun does not always shine and the wind does not always blow.

Big batteries can save that energy for later, which keeps the lights on.

Experts say India will need more than 400 GWh of energy storage by 2032.

Ola has agreed to explore supplying up to 20 GWh of storage to Axis Energy by 2032.

Ola makes its own batteries in a factory that will reach 6 GWh of capacity by September.
