GVMC Commissioner launches zone-level grievance redressal programme in Anakapalli
A city official named Ketan Garg is the Commissioner of GVMC, which manages the city of Visakhapatnam.
He started a new program to help people solve their problems with the city.
Every Monday, he will visit a different part of the city to meet people directly.
He began in a place called Anakapalli.
People came to him with 11 problems, like water supply, taxes and encroachments.
He promised to fix these problems quickly.
He also talked about building a big water pipeline to bring more water to Anakapalli.
The city also wants to build a sewage treatment plant so every home can have proper drainage.
He told his officers to check each problem carefully and upload photos of the work done.
This way, people's complaints will be solved faster.
GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg launched the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) programme directly from zones, beginning with Anakapalli.
He will personally conduct PGRS every Monday from one of the 10 zones under GVMC and interact directly with petitioners.
A total of 11 petitions were received, including 4 on town planning, 3 on engineering, 2 on revenue, 1 on public health and 1 on UCD.
A water pipeline from Aganampudi to Anakapalli is being taken up at a cost of approximately Rs. 115 crore under 15th Finance Commission funds.
Steps will be taken to establish a Sewage Treatment Plant in Anakapalli and resolve the dumping yard issue to improve sanitation.
