Guwahati's Rs 177-Cr Intelligent City Surveillance System Nears Completion
Guwahati is getting a big upgrade to help keep people safe and manage traffic better.
They are installing 2,000 special cameras all over the city, and about half of them are already up!
This is part of a new system called ICSS, which cost about 177 crore rupees.
This system will help the police see what's happening, respond to emergencies faster, and even help with things like traffic jams and making sure large groups of people are okay.
It's like giving the city eyes and ears to be safer and run more smoothly.
There will also be special boxes to call for help and screens to give important messages to people.
The main control center where people will watch everything is almost ready too.
This whole project is expected to be finished early next year.

Additional features include Public Announcement Systems, Emergency Call Boxes, Variable Message Displays, and environmental sensors.
The project is jointly operated by GSCL and Assam Police, with an Integrated Command and Control Centre and viewing centers serving as operational hubs, and is expected to be completed in the new year.
