Bengaluru Food Safety Officials Seize Expiry-Date Sauces for Lab Tests

Food safety inspectors are people whose job is to make sure the food we eat is safe and clean.

They visited hotels in Bengaluru and found problems like moldy vegetables and dirty food storage.

The next day, they checked two big warehouses that supply food to hotels.

In these warehouses, they found many bottles of sauce that were close to their expiry date.

Food that is close to expiring can be unsafe to eat, so the inspectors took the sauces away.

They also took samples of meat and other foods to test in a laboratory.

They even found about 10 litres of drinks, like strawberry-flavoured beverages, that were near their expiry date.

The inspectors want to make sure hotels only serve fresh and safe food to their customers.

The warehouse companies could face legal action if they broke the food safety rules.

This helps everyone trust that the food served in hotels is safe to eat.
