Gunfight Near Patna Son River Leaves Suspected Extortion Kingpin Injured
Police and a group of suspected criminals had a gunfight near the Son River in Bihar.
Police said the group was allegedly demanding money from boatmen.
About 62 shots were fired in total.
A suspected gang leader named Avinash Kumar was hurt in the leg and arrested.

Police exchanged around 62 rounds with suspected extortionists near the Son River in Patna district on Sunday morning.
Police identified the injured and arrested suspect as Avinash Kumar, who was allegedly collecting money from boatmen.
Kumar suffered a leg injury and was taken to Patna Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Police said they recovered several improvised weapons, about 25 live cartridges and the suspects’ boat.
Two police personnel were reportedly injured, while searches and raids continued for Kumar’s alleged associates.
