India's EHTP units reach 79, exports cross ₹11,150 crore
India has a special program to help companies that make electronics send what they build to other countries.
It is called the Electronics Hardware Technology Park, or EHTP.
Two years ago, there were 70 companies in this program.
Now there are 79 companies, which means more businesses joined.
These companies sold a huge amount of electronics to other countries.
In the last year, their exports were worth about ₹11,200 crore, which is a very big number.
A place called Karnataka is doing the most work, with 34 companies.
The program gives companies benefits like not paying taxes on things they need, instead of giving them money directly.
The government is also making it easier to join by simplifying paperwork online.
This helps India make and sell more electronics around the world.
The number of Electronics Hardware Technology Park (EHTP) units in India rose to 79 in 2025-26 from 70 two years earlier and 73 in FY25.
Exports from EHTP units were estimated at ₹11,200 crore in FY26, crossing the ₹11,150 crore mark, compared with ₹11,442.66 crore in FY25 and ₹9,677.98 crore in FY24.
Karnataka led EHTP activity with 34 units in FY26 and exports of ₹8,328.98 crore, followed by Maharashtra (six units, ₹1,165.54 crore) and Uttar Pradesh (seven units, ₹900.41 crore).
The 100% export-oriented scheme has no direct fund allocation; eligible units receive incentives such as duty-free imports under the Foreign Trade Policy 2023.
The government automated Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) services on a digital platform and replaced case-to-case import permissions with blanket permissions for the financial year.
