Kolkata Metro services disrupted for over an hour after suicide bid at Rabindra Sarobar station · theprint.in

One Friday evening, many people in Kolkata were riding the Metro to get home.

Suddenly, the trains stopped running the way they usually do.

Something very sad happened at a station called Rabindra Sarobar.

A person at the station tried to hurt themselves — this is called a suicide attempt.

Because of this, the Metro could not run normally for about one hour.

The people who run the Metro, called Metro Railway, decided to run only some trains.

These trains went between two stations, Maidan and Dakshineswar, in both directions.

That way, riders could still travel on parts of the line.

If you ever feel very sad or upset, remember it is always okay to ask a grown-up for help.
