Vedanta Invests Over $1 Billion in Net-Zero Transition
Vedanta is a mining company that says it spent more than $1 billion to reduce pollution.
It used much more renewable electricity during 2025-26 than the year before.
The company said this renewable electricity was equal to the yearly use of about 3 crore Indian households.
Vedanta has nearly 2,000 megawatts of renewable-energy capacity installed or contracted.
It wants to increase this to 2.5 gigawatts of renewable power available around the clock by 2030.
The company said its efforts prevented about 3 million tonnes of carbon-dioxide-equivalent emissions.
It also said emissions per unit of metals and mining production fell about 14% compared with 2020-21.
These efforts are part of a wider push to move toward net-zero emissions.
