Delhi Metro Advances Central Vista Corridor With Four Stations
Delhi Metro wants to build part of a new underground route through central Delhi.
The project includes four stations and two tunnels.
The stations will be near India Gate, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam and the War Memorial-High Court area.
Special machines called Tunnel Boring Machines will dig the tunnels.
The tunnels will connect Kartavya Bhawan station with Indraprastha station.
Contractors can submit their bids in November 2026.
The selected contractor will have 42 months to finish this contract.
The larger route is expected to help office workers and visitors reach important places in central Delhi.
DMRC invited bids for twin underground tunnels and four stations under Contract EC-04.
The stations will serve India Gate, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam and the War Memorial-High Court area.
Shield Tunnel Boring Machines will construct the Up and Down tunnels between Kartavya Bhawan and Indraprastha stations.
The contract has a 42-month completion period and requires bid security of Rs 21.498 crore.
The broader 9.913-kilometre Central Vista Corridor is planned to have nine underground stations serving government, judicial and visitor destinations.
