House panel seeks measures to fix scholarship disbursal delays

Some students in India wait a very long time to get money from the government to help them study.

This money is called a scholarship.

A group of important people called a committee checks whether the government is doing its job well.

The committee asked the government why students' scholarship money was late.

The committee felt sad and disappointed, which they called 'disheartened', with the government's answer.

The committee wants the government to fix the delays quickly.

It also said more families should be able to get free coaching classes.

Right now, only families earning up to 8 lakh rupees a year can use this program.

The committee thinks the government should let families who earn a little more also join.

The committee wrote a report and shared it with both Houses of Parliament in India.
