Mumbai BMC PPP Policy Sparks Clash Over Public Land
Mumbai’s city council held a heated meeting about how public land should be used.
Opposition members said a policy could let private developers use land meant for gardens, schools, playgrounds and markets.

Kishori Pednekar demanded that the PPP policy be scrapped and existing arrangements undergo special audits.
Ashraf Azmi alleged that leasing plots at Century Mill, CSMT Market and the Worli asphalt plant could harm Mumbaikars and mill-worker families.
The ruling alliance rejected the allegations, saying no new plot-leasing policy had been introduced.
The BMC said SVKM won the Andheri Sports Complex lease after a public bidding process and that 650 mill-worker families would receive homes in Worli.
