Telangana Police Induct AI-Driven Drones as First Responders in Hyderabad
The police in Hyderabad, a big city in India, now have new flying helpers called drones.
Drones are like small aircraft that can fly without a pilot inside, and they carry cameras.
These drones are smart because they use artificial intelligence, which is like a computer brain.
The police started using them on a test basis in four areas, including Hyderabad and Cyberabad.
Whenever something bad happens, like a fire, a car accident, or a big emergency, the drones will fly there quickly.
They will send live video pictures to the police so officers can see what is going on.
The police chief, C.V. Anand, announced this at a special event to launch the new 112 emergency phone number.
People can call 112 to ask for help in an emergency.
The police hope these flying cameras will help them rescue people faster and keep the city safer.
Telangana DGP C.V. Anand announced AI-enabled drones on a pilot basis in the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City commissionerates.
The drones will act as aerial first responders, providing real-time visual intelligence during fires, road accidents, disasters, law and order situations, crowd incidents and search and rescue operations.
The announcement was made at the launch of the integrated Dial 112 emergency response system.
The TG-ERSS roadmap includes expanded artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, smart city integration, multilingual virtual assistants, drone-assisted operations and advanced decision-support tools.
Anand said the system's effectiveness will depend on the coordination and professionalism of call takers, dispatchers, patrol officers, supervisory staff, technical teams and partner departments.
