Tirupati Officer Orders Complete Filing of SIR Hearings
An election officer in Tirupati checked places where voters answer SIR notices.
He told election workers to keep every required paper safely in each voter’s file.
These papers include the voter’s documents, forms, signatures and hearing report.
Workers must also explain why a voter received a notice.
A hearing should not be completed until all needed documents are collected.
If a voter arrives early, officials must still accept the papers and complete the required records.
The officer said the rules of the Election Commission must be followed.
He warned that careless officials could face action.
