APSRTC To Launch 350 E-Buses In October First Phase
Andhra Pradesh’s state bus company plans to start using 350 electric buses in October.
These buses run on electricity instead of diesel.
The state has been allotted 750 electric buses under the PM e-Bus Scheme.
The other buses are expected to arrive by the end of the year.
Workers are installing charging stations and electrical substations for them.
The government wants to make public transport more modern and reduce pollution.
It is also considering eventually replacing all diesel buses with electric ones.
Another program gives women free bus travel, and some people with disabilities also travel for free.
APSRTC will launch 350 of Andhra Pradesh’s sanctioned 750 e-buses in October.
The remaining sanctioned e-buses are expected to be introduced by the end of the year.
