Lata Mangeshkar's Refusal to Sing Satyam Shivam Sundaram Title Track
Why Lata Mangeshkar REJECTED Raj Kapoor's Satyam Shivam Sundaram titletrack? Here's everything we know · bollywoodlife.com

Lata Mangeshkar, a famous Indian singer, initially refused to sing the title track for the movie Satyam Shivam Sundaram.

This happened because the director, Raj Kapoor, replaced her brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar as the composer without telling her.

Lata was very upset and felt betrayed.

She even asked for royalties on Raj Kapoor's songs, which she had never done before.

After some time, a poet named Pandit Narendra Sharma convinced her to sing the song.

She agreed but set two strict conditions: she wouldn't speak to anyone during the recording, and Raj Kapoor couldn't be in the studio.

Lata recorded the song and left immediately.

Later, they made up, and the song became one of the classics of Hindi cinema.
