Manoj Sinha Completes Six Years as Jammu and Kashmir LG
In a part of India called Jammu and Kashmir, there is a leader named Manoj Sinha.
He just finished six years as the Lieutenant Governor, the top person in charge of the region.
When he started in August 2020, a big sickness called COVID-19 was spreading, and his team helped hospitals take care of sick people.
Many ordinary people came to his office at Lok Bhawan because they felt he would listen to their problems.
His office gave government jobs to the families of people hurt by terrorists, to honor them.
When another country, Pakistan, fired shells near the border, he helped families who had to leave their homes find shelter and get food and water.
His team built roads, brought electricity to villages that once used kerosene lamps, and gave many homes clean tap water.
Lots of tourists started visiting, and cinemas reopened in the region after many years.
Some problems are still there, like not enough jobs for young people.
People remember him as a leader who listened, even if not everyone agrees with his decisions.
Manoj Sinha has completed six years as Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, spanning six of the seven years since it became a Union Territory.
He assumed office in August 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, expanding testing capacity, strengthening hospital infrastructure and accelerating vaccination.
His administration employed government employees allegedly involved in terror activities, cracked down on terror financing and provided government jobs to next of kin of terror victims.
During Operation Sindoor, his administration coordinated evacuations, relief camps and infrastructure repairs for civilians affected by Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control and International Border.
Infrastructure, tourism — including the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Srinagar — and technology-driven governance improved, though terrorism and unemployment remain challenges.
