J&K L-G lauds KP Volunteers for compassion, service to needy
A very important leader in India praised a group of kind volunteers.
The leader's name is Manoj Sinha and he is the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
The volunteers are called KP Volunteers and they help people who need food, medicine, and other help.
They started helping during a big sickness called the Covid-19 pandemic.
It all began with just one bag of rice that was given to them.
Since then, they have helped hundreds of families every month.
They have also helped people get online doctor advice and emergency blood.
The leader said their good work shows the value of love, duty, and kindness.
He also said they should keep growing and help even more people in the future, especially children, sick people, and women.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha lauded KP Volunteers for upholding compassion, duty and humanity while helping the needy.
He attended the organisation's Foundation Day celebration and felicitated volunteers for six-and-a-half years of selfless service.
KP Volunteers began in April 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, seeded by a bag of rice donated by the Jammu Ashram of Swami Nand Bab Sahib.
Under its Family Adoption Programme, 164 families receive monthly assistance in ration, medicines and education, with nearly 10,000 online medical consultations and over 6,500 emergency blood donations during the pandemic.
The L-G outlined four future priorities: expanding educational assistance, strengthening healthcare support, creating a global volunteer network and empowering women through skill development and entrepreneurship.
