TVK Government to Launch Expanded Kamaraj Breakfast Scheme September 22
Tamil Nadu is expanding a school breakfast programme.
The programme will now provide breakfast to students in Classes 6 to 8.
It was first meant to begin on Thursday.
The launch was delayed because Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay was in London.
The new launch date is September 22.
Schools in Chengalpattu and Tiruppur will not join the rollout yet because elections are taking place there.
The government says breakfast can help children attend school and focus on lessons.
Officials will arrange food supplies, kitchens, hygiene and distribution.
