Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Clears ₹3,774 Crore Western Bhopal Bypass
The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approved several road, farming, employment, and dairy projects.
The biggest decision was to build a four-lane bypass around western Bhopal.
The bypass will cost ₹3,774 crore.
Its route was changed because of environmental concerns, a tiger reserve, a historic temple, and the need to connect another bypass.
The new route will be 35.61 kilometers long.
It should help vehicles traveling toward Indore avoid passing through Bhopal.
The Cabinet also approved another four-lane road in the state.
It increased the amount of summer moong the government will buy from farmers and approved plans to expand the Sanchi dairy brand.
A public campaign called Sewa Sankalp will also be held to mark Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life.
The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approved a ₹3,774 crore Western Bhopal four-lane bypass with paved shoulders under the Hybrid Annuity Model.
A route realignment shortened the bypass from 40.90 km to 35.61 km and increased its cost by ₹792 crore from the earlier approval.
The bypass is intended to divert Indore-bound traffic from Jabalpur and Narmadapuram around Bhopal, reducing travel distance by 21 km.
The Cabinet also approved the ₹2,776.83 crore Mehluwa-Bina-Khimlasa-Malthone four-lane road and related pre-construction and supervision funding.
Other decisions included increasing summer moong procurement to 60%, approving the VB-G RAM G scheme, allocating ₹2,973 crore for Sanchi upgrades, and launching the Sewa Sankalp campaign.
