Kota-Jhalawar NH-52 four-lane Mukundra Bypass moves closer to construction
The government wants to make a busy road in Rajasthan, India, safer and easier to drive on.
The road is part of National Highway 52, which connects the towns of Kota and Jhalawar.
Near a place called Mukundra, the road is getting a new four-lane bypass, which is like an extra wider road to go around traffic.
Building this bypass will cost about ₹376.85 crore, which is a very large amount of money.
The government has asked companies to send in their offers, or bids, to do the construction work.
Before building can start, the government also needs to get the land, and it started that process in July 2025.
Once a company is chosen, it will have two years to build the road.
After the road is built, the company will take care of it for another five years.
This new road should help trucks and cars travel more smoothly between Kota and Jhalawar.
A tender has been floated for the four-laning of the Mukundra Bypass on the Kota-Jhalawar section of NH-52 in Rajasthan.
The bypass project is estimated to cost ₹376.85 crore and will be developed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.
The Central Government issued a land acquisition notification in July 2025 for the bypass in Kota district.
The selected contractor will have two years to complete the four-laning, followed by a five-year maintenance period.
The bypass aims to improve connectivity between Kota and Jhalawar and ease traffic movement around Mukundra.
