Maharashtra FDA suspends Parle Agro warehouse licence over expired beverages
Tukaram Mundhe's Maharashtra FDA suspends Parle Agro warehouse licence: Expired Frooti seized — what else was found? · livemint.com

The FDA is like the food safety police in Maharashtra, the state where Mumbai is.

Their job is to check that the food and drinks we buy are safe to eat.

The FDA found some bottles of Frooti, Appy Fizz and Candy Juice that were old and past their expiry date.

Expired drinks can make people sick, so they should not be sold.

The FDA closed the warehouse where these drinks were stored.

They also checked 86 online shops that deliver food to our homes.

Some shops were told to fix their problems, and others were told to stop selling food for a while.

The FDA also caught people selling banned products like pan masala and gutkha, and nine people were arrested.

They also checked restaurants and Domino's Pizza stores to make sure they were clean.

All these checks help keep our food safe and healthy.
