Tamil Nadu Raises Health Insurance Coverage to Rs 25 Lakh

Tamil Nadu is increasing the amount of health insurance people can receive from the government.

The yearly limit will go up from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay announced the change on Wednesday.

The insurance comes through the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.

The government also announced other plans to improve healthcare.

Vijay said everyone should be able to get medical care.

He said healthcare should not depend on whether someone is rich or poor.

The government wants people in all locations to have better access to treatment.
