Vijay Government Expands Health Insurance and Maternity Leave

Tamil Nadu’s government announced two new welfare changes.

First, families can now receive up to ₹25 lakh in health insurance each year.

The earlier limit was ₹5 lakh.

This support is provided through the state’s comprehensive health insurance scheme.

Chief Minister Vijay said healthcare should be a right for everyone.

He said the government wants to reduce barriers caused by income and geography.

Second, women government employees can receive one year of maternity leave even for a third child.

Previously, the leave for a third child was limited to 12 weeks.

These decisions show that the government is focusing on expanding public support.
