Tamil Nadu Announces Milk Price Hike and Healthcare Expansion

The Tamil Nadu government announced several plans under Rule 110.

Milk producers will receive ₹41 instead of ₹38 for every litre supplied.

The government incentive will also increase from ₹3 to ₹5 per litre.

More than 3.16 lakh milk producers are expected to benefit.

The government will spend ₹351 crore to create more places for students in healthcare courses.

A total of 6,098 new seats and seven government nursing colleges are planned.

Perambalur will get a new 400-bed multi-speciality hospital costing about ₹300 crore.

The state also proposes increasing health insurance coverage from ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh.

Additional medical services for transgender persons will be offered at seven healthcare institutions.
