Women-led Mulkanoor dairy cooperative empowers 23,450 Telangana milk producers

In many villages, women take care of cows and collect milk, but for a long time they did not earn much money from it.

The Mulkanoor Women Cooperative Dairy brought these women together to work as a team.

By joining forces, they could sell their milk together instead of depending on middlemen who took a big share.

The cooperative collects milk from many villages and processes it in its own plant.

It also makes other dairy products like cheese or butter, so members earn even more.

The women get helpful support like cheaper animal food, medicines for their cows, and vet care at their doorsteps.

Payments for the milk they supply are made every 15 days, so families have a steady income.

Women also get training in scientific dairy farming, bookkeeping and leadership.

Today, tens of thousands of women run this cooperative together, making decisions and building better lives for their families.
