Militant, Student Leader Arrested Over Alleged Kidnapping, Extortion
Security forces arrested two people in Manipur’s Imphal East district.
One was Waikhom Hero Meetei, who police linked to an alleged kidnapping.
Police said he was an active member of Kangleipak Communist Party (Nongdrenkhomba).
The other person was Sena, president of the Manipur Students Federation.
Police also alleged that Sena was linked to the banned National Revolutionary Front Manipur.
Authorities said Meetei helped publish or draft articles for the group.
They also alleged that he was involved in unauthorised money transactions.
Police said they recovered Rs 2.67 lakh and a laptop from him.
