The weather office in India, called the India Meteorological Department, looks at clouds and rain to tell people what the weather will be like.

They say it is going to be rainy during the Independence Day holiday weekend.

Some places near the mountains, called ghats, and the coastal areas of Konkan and Goa will get lots of rain.

A yellow alert means people should be careful because there could be heavy rain.

An orange alert means the rain could be even stronger.

Places like Mumbai and Thane also got rain alerts, meaning it might pour there too.

Some hill stations already got a lot of rain, like Bhira which got 120 millimetres.

Pune city stayed cloudy but only had very light rain.

The temperatures in some parts of Pune were a little cooler than usual.

As the week goes on, the rain is expected to become lighter in some places.
