Odisha Announces ₹2 Lakh Aid for Students in Accidents
The Odisha government has created financial help for students hurt in accidents.
It covers children from Sishu Vatika through Class 12.
Students must attend eligible government, aided, or specified Odisha model schools.
If a student dies or becomes permanently disabled, the family can receive ₹2 lakh.
The accident must happen at school, while travelling to or from school, or during a school activity.
Injured students who need treatment outside their district may receive up to ₹30,000 for transfer costs.
Students treated for more than three days at a district headquarters hospital may receive up to ₹10,000 for transportation.
Eligible students can also receive free treatment at government hospitals and may qualify for other assistance.
Approved money must be sent to a guardian’s bank account within 24 hours.
