Uttar Pradesh has a scheme to help people hurt in accidents involving state transport buses.

It also gives money to families when a passenger dies.

From 2017-18 to 2025-26, 342 cases received more than ₹17.33 crore.

Most of the money went to families of people who died.

Injured passengers can receive money for treatment, depending on how serious their injuries are.

Adult passenger deaths are eligible for up to ₹7.50 lakh.

Since April 2026, some pedestrians and other people outside the bus can also receive support.

However, payment may be refused if official reports say that person caused the accident through negligence.

Negligence condition
Payment is not made when police and Corporation investigation reports establish negligence by the affected person as the cause of the accident.
