Chandigarh University Students to Develop UAVs for Border Surveillance
Chandigarh University held a large engineering event called Build Summit 2026.
Students competed in activities such as a hackathon, drone challenge and robot race.
The drone competition winners will work with Johnnette Technologies Private Limited.
Together, they will develop unmanned aerial vehicles for border surveillance.
The robot race winners will work on autonomous vehicles with industry partners.
Students also showed more than 50 technology projects.
These projects included ideas about drones, healthcare, artificial intelligence and sustainable transport.
Experts at the event encouraged students to build useful technologies for India.
Chandigarh University launched Build Summit 2026 during Engineers’ Day under the theme “Innovating for Bharat.”
The summit featured exhibitions, a 24-hour hackathon, a drone challenge and an RC off-road robo race.
Drone Challenge winners Harry Tanwar, Arush Singh, Navjosh Singh and Anurag will develop UAVs for border surveillance with Johnnette Technologies Private Limited.
Winners of the RC Off-Road Robo Race will develop autonomous vehicles with industry partners.
More than 50 student projects spanning drones, artificial intelligence, healthcare, robotics, mobility and cybersecurity were displayed at the Innovision exhibition.
