MP CM Suspends Katni CSP Amid Land Purchase Allegations

A police officer in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, has been suspended.

She is accused of using police power to pressure a family into selling land.

Investigators said government guidelines valued the land at about Rs 82.87 lakh.

They said the land was sold for only Rs 18.20 lakh.

The land was registered in Maruf Ahmed Hanafi’s name.

Investigators found that Hanafi had only Rs 3,036 in his account in July 2025.

They said Rs 15 lakh was transferred to his account on the day the sale was registered.

A police case has been filed against the officer and other accused people.

Officials said the allegations will be fairly investigated and strict action will follow if wrongdoing is established.
