CID Probes DIG Chauhan for Embezzlement, Extortion, Misuse of Power
A very important police officer in India is in trouble.
His name is L.S. Chauhan, and he is a Deputy Inspector General, or DIG, for a place called Jagulamba Range in Telangana.
The police department thinks he may have taken money that did not belong to him.
They say he bought lots of land and built a fancy house with money he got unfairly.
He is also accused of taking bribes to help people in property fights and to give some officers better jobs.
The Crime Investigation Department, or CID, is now looking into these claims.
Mr. Chauhan has been told to report to the head police office right away.

CID teams are recording statements of personnel who served under Chauhan and probing deputy superintendents suspected of involvement.
