Delhi HC asks Centre to give Pappu Yadav additional PSO
Pappu Yadav is a member of Parliament in India, which means he helps make laws for the country.
He represents people who live in Purnia, Bihar.
Mr. Yadav said some people were threatening to hurt him.
He thought this might happen because he joined protests in Parliament.
So, he asked the government to give him more protection, like extra security guards.
A security guard who stays close to a leader is called a personal security officer, or PSO.
The Delhi High Court, a big court, listened to his request.
The court told the government to give him one extra security officer right away.
The government has three weeks to decide his full request for more protection.
If he is not happy with the decision, he can go back to court.
The Delhi High Court directed the Centre to provide an additional personal security officer (PSO) to MP Pappu Yadav without any further delay.
The additional PSO is a temporary measure until the Centre decides Yadav's representation seeking enhanced security cover.
Centre's standing counsel Ashish Dixit said the representation is under consideration and would be decided within three weeks.
Yadav sought enhanced security citing death threats after his participation in Parliament protests against the NEET fiasco and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
The court disposed of the writ petition as not pressed and said Yadav can take legal remedies if unsatisfied with the decision on his representation.
