J&K BJP: Statehood Will Return, Article 370 Will Not
Statehood will return, Article 370 will not: JK BJP to Mirwaiz · theprint.in

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq asked political parties to work together to restore Article 370.

BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur said Article 370 will not return.

He said Parliament removed it through a constitutional decision in 2019.

He also said the Supreme Court upheld that decision.

Thakur argued that calls to restore it could create tension and instability in Kashmir.

He said young people want education, jobs, businesses, investment and tourism.

Political parties can still share their opinions within the rules of the Constitution.

Thakur said statehood may return later, but that is separate from Article 370.
