IIT Dharwad Offers Free One-Year AI Course With Stipend
A big engineering school in India called IIT Dharwad is offering a special one-year class about artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is how computers learn to do smart things.
The class is free, so students do not have to pay for it.
Students who are chosen also get a place to stay, food, and a small monthly pocket money of Rs 1,000.
The Government of India is paying for this programme through the PM VIKAS scheme.
The class is for people who belong to minority communities, like Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains.
Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years old and should have finished college or be in their final year of studies.
Some seats are saved for women and for students from economically weaker families.
Students who finish the course get a government-recognised certificate and help finding a job afterwards.
IIT Dharwad is offering a one-year residential course in Artificial Intelligence Technocrat under the PM VIKAS Scheme 2026-27.
Selected candidates receive free training, hostel facilities, boarding, and lodging for the year.
Beneficiaries get a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 disbursed by the Ministry via Direct Benefit Transfer.
Applications are open until August 31 on the official portal pm-vikas.iitdh.ac.in.
33% of seats are reserved for women and up to 15% for non-minority Economically Weaker Section candidates.
