India has a big holiday called Independence Day, when the country celebrates being free.
On Saturday, August 15, 2026, India celebrated its 80th Independence Day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a special speech from a famous old fort called the Red Fort in Delhi.
He said young people are very important for India's future.
He announced that the government will give free online coaching to help young people with their studies and career goals.
He also said one crore young people, which is ten million, will get training in artificial intelligence within one year.

Modi called for India to lead in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, space, robotics and data centres, identifying technology as the third 'shakti' of the 'Sapta Dhara' vision.
The Centre will also start financial coaching centres to ease the burden on students and families, while the Red Fort celebrations marked 150 years of 'Vande Mataram' under tight security.
