PM Modi Announces Free Online Coaching, AI Training for Youth
India has a big holiday called Independence Day, when the country celebrates being free.
On Saturday, August 15, 2026, India celebrated its 80th Independence Day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a special speech from a famous old fort called the Red Fort in Delhi.
He said young people are very important for India's future.
He announced that the government will give free online coaching to help young people with their studies and career goals.
He also said one crore young people, which is ten million, will get training in artificial intelligence within one year.
Artificial intelligence is technology that lets computers learn and do smart things.
The Prime Minister said India should become self-reliant, which means not depending too much on other countries.
He talked about the goal of making India a developed nation by the year 2047.
The celebration also honoured the song 'Vande Mataram,' which is 150 years old this year.
PM Narendra Modi announced free online coaching for youth and an AI training scheme for one crore (10 million) young people within one year.
He outlined a seven-point framework for building a 'Viksit Bharat', emphasising the youth's central role in the journey to a developed India by 2047.
The Prime Minister stressed 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', saying India should no longer live in dependence on other nations, citing 'Make in India', 'Swadeshi' and 'Local for Local' initiatives.
Modi called for India to lead in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, space, robotics and data centres, identifying technology as the third 'shakti' of the 'Sapta Dhara' vision.
The Centre will also start financial coaching centres to ease the burden on students and families, while the Red Fort celebrations marked 150 years of 'Vande Mataram' under tight security.
