A very important court in Rajasthan decided to stop a legal punishment case that was going on in a lower court.

The case was about some land that the government gave to a farming group a very long time ago, in 1953.

Later, the city development agency wanted the land back and offered part of new buildings in return.

Some people said that the people getting the land in return were not being honest, so a complaint was filed in 2012.

The police first said there was no case, but a judge later started a criminal case anyway.

The High Court looked at everything and said this is really a disagreement about land ownership, which should be solved by the special land courts, not by criminal courts.

The High Court also said you cannot call something a crime until the land courts decide who really owns the land.

So the High Court ended the criminal case against the former Governor and the other 16 people.

The land involved in the disagreement was thought to be worth about 400 crore rupees, which is a huge amount of money.

Now the land ownership questions will keep going through the proper land and revenue courts.
