An Indian company called the Mahindra Group has started a brand-new company named Novavayu Aerospace Limited.

This new company will build airplanes and other advanced aerospace products.

It was officially registered on July 30 and is based in Mumbai.

The company was started with one crore rupees of authorised share capital.

It will focus on making aircraft for the defence aviation segment.

Novavayu belongs to Mahindra, which already makes parts for helicopters.

The new company plans to design its own aircraft and also work with overseas partners.

Mahindra already builds fuselages for Airbus helicopters at a big plant near Bengaluru.

The first helicopter cabin it makes is scheduled to be delivered to Airbus in March 2027.

This is a big step, because Mahindra is growing from making small parts to building entire aircraft.
