Guntur Prosthetic Hand Camp Empowers 200 Beneficiaries
A group of helpers from the Red Cross, Rotary, and a U.S. foundation set up a camp in the city of Guntur.
They gave almost 200 people new artificial hands that look and feel like real ones.
The helpers also taught the people how to use and take care of the hands.
The camp was the first of many planned for the whole state.
The people who got the hands said they were very thankful and that the new hands would help them do everyday tasks and feel more confident.
Andhra Pradesh Red Cross Society, Rotary International, and Tangience Foundation organized a prosthetic hand‑fitting camp in Guntur on Sunday.
Nearly 200 beneficiaries received imported LN4 prosthetic hands after screening identified 255 eligible individuals.
The camp included medical assessments, fitting, and training on use and maintenance of the prosthetic devices.
Organizers plan to hold similar camps across all districts of Andhra Pradesh by year‑end to reach every eligible person.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting the hands will improve independence, confidence, and quality of life.
