Maharashtra Urges Corporate CSR Support for TB-Free Mission by 2030

Tuberculosis, also called TB, is a sickness that usually affects the lungs and can spread to other people.

The government of Maharashtra, a state in India, wants to get rid of TB in the whole state before the year 2030.

But the government says it cannot do this job all by itself.

So it is asking companies to help through programs called Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR.

Companies can help by spreading awareness, supporting early testing, and helping patients get treatment.

The health minister said some people are scared to get tested because they worry about stigma and how TB might affect their families.

When TB is found late, it can spread to more people and make the sick person worse.

The government is proud of a program called Nikshay Mitra, where people and organizations give food and other help to TB patients.

The leaders believe that if citizens, companies, and social groups all work together, TB can be eliminated before 2030.
