Tirupati Launches 16 'Thalli Bidda Express' Vehicles for Pregnant Women
In a place called Tirupati, the government started a new service to help pregnant women and new mothers.
Sixteen special vehicles were given to the district to help them travel.
These vehicles take women to government hospitals for free and bring them back home after they have their babies.
The service is called the '102 Thalli Bidda Express.'
Women can book a ride by calling 102 or asking their health workers for help.
The service helps women go for check-ups, tests and treatment at hospitals.
Officials especially asked women with risky pregnancies or anaemia to use the service.
Getting to the hospital on time helps keep mothers and babies healthy.
The goal is to reduce the number of sick babies and keep mothers and infants safe.
Tirupati district launched 16 dedicated '102 Thalli Bidda Express' vehicles providing free transport for pregnant women and new mothers to government hospitals.
The vehicles were flagged off at the Collectorate premises by District Collector Dr S Venkateswar, MLA Arani Srinivasulu, TTD Board member Panabaka Lakshmi and G Narasimha Yadav.
The free service helps women attend antenatal check-ups, undergo medical tests and receive treatment, and can also take mothers and newborns home after discharge.
The service can be booked by contacting 102 through government medical officers, ANMs or ASHA workers.
Of the 16 vehicles, 15 will operate in the Tirupati area and one in the Srikalahasti area, with officials urging high-risk and anaemic pregnant women to use the service.
