GAIL, RCF to Build 1.27 MMTPA Urea Plant in Maharashtra
GAIL and RCF, two big Indian companies, decided to work together to build a new factory that makes urea, a fertilizer used on farms.
The factory will be in the Vidarbha area of Maharashtra and will use natural gas from a big pipeline.
It will produce 1.27 million tonnes of urea each year, which is a lot of fertilizer.
The project is part of India’s plan to make more food and use less imported fertilizer.
Both companies said they are excited about the partnership and hope it will help farmers and the economy.
GAIL and RCF signed a MoU to jointly set up a gas‑based urea plant in Maharashtra.
The plant will have a capacity of 1.27 million metric tonnes per annum and will be located in Vidarbha along GAIL’s MNJPL pipeline.
The project will be operated through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) and aims to meet India’s growing fertilizer demand.
The partnership aligns with India’s National Investment Policy for Urea‑2026 and supports energy security and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Senior executives from both companies, including Deepak Gupta and S. Shivakumar, attended the signing ceremony.
