Madhya Pradesh Plans Tumour Boards At New Government Medical Colleges
Madhya Pradesh plans to create cancer tumour boards at several newer government medical colleges.
These boards are teams of doctors who work together on difficult cancer cases.
The teams include medical, surgical and radiation specialists.
They study a patient’s diagnosis and cancer stage.
Then they help choose an individual treatment plan.
Colleges in Ratlam, Datia, Khandwa, Singrauli and Vidisha are expected to benefit.
Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal began this effort after creating its own board in August.
Doctors say the boards can help more cancer patients receive coordinated care.
