MPLADS: Assam weakest, Bihar strongest among large states

The Indian government gives Members of Parliament money to build useful things in their areas, like roads, playgrounds and community halls.

This special fund is called MPLADS.

The government recently checked how the money was being used over the past four years.

It found that less than half of the money had actually been paid to the workers and companies doing the projects.

Some states, like Assam, finished very few of their projects.

Other states, like Bihar, almost finished everything they planned.

The place called Ladakh had no completed projects, and one tiny region had no approved projects at all.

The best performer was Nagaland, which spent and finished most of its work.

The government shared these numbers in Parliament so everyone can see how the money is being spent.

The numbers help people know which states need to work faster.
