Waqf Board Clarifies Survey Error, Relief For Malkajgiri Owners · deccanchronicle.com

In a place called Malkajgiri in India, many people own homes and land.

Some government records made a mistake and said their land belonged to a different village called Mallapur.

Because of that mistake, these owners were not allowed to sell or register their property.

About 10,000 people and families were affected by this problem.

The Telangana Waqf Board, a government group that looks after certain land, looked into the mistake.

They checked official papers and found which land really belonged to each village.

On July 29, they sent a message explaining which survey numbers belong to Mallapur and which belong to Malkajgiri.

They also asked for the official gazette to be corrected so the records would be right.

People whose land was wrongly listed are happy because they can finally deal with their property again.
